Pakistan's anti-terrorism court has summoned10 witnesses of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto murder case. Today (Saturday) at the end of the hearing of the case, the Justice Pervez Rasul Jaya of a special court in Rawalpindi has issued a summons.
In addition, Justice Pervez Rasul gave notice of bail application of accused Mohammad Rafakat, Hasnain Gul and Aitaz Shah to the government counsels. The next hearing will be held on 5 January.
On 7 December 2007, Benazir was shot dead by a bomb and gun in Liaquat Bag of Rawalpindi. The incident took place when she was returning after addressing an election rally in Rawalpindi during the days of the former army ruler Pervez Musharraf.
In August, last year, Musharraf was accused in the Benazir murder case. In addition, in this case among the high-profile accused, a former police officer of Rawalpindi Saud Aziz, the then SP Khurram Shahzad, Zaman, and Abdul Rashid were included.
