Sign of improvement of the hostility could not be seen between the two countries since last 50 years. 'Korean War' started in 1950 and ended in 1953. After that, two countries expressed hatred attitude against each other in all possible means. Sporting was not also above these abnormalities. In 1988, North Korean players did not take part in the Olympics held by South Korea.
However, nowadays, though two Koreans in the battle situation due to joint military trial of South Korea with the United States, harmonious atmosphere back lacked turns in sporting. In 2002, Asian Games was held in Busan of South Korea. In that Festival, North Korea sent athletes and cheerleaders. This year, Asian Games will be held in the South Korean port city. North Korea confirmed that they will send mail and female football teams. Central News Agency informed this in a report.
Before that, South Korea invited North Korea to participate in ASIAD Program through the Asian Olympic Council. Seven months are still remaining to be started. However, as a hint to improve mutual relation, North Korea has declared a long time before that they will send their players for this contest held from 19 September to 4 October.
